Find commercial solar leads from aerial imagery
GeoSpectre searches the aerial imagery of a whole area for the buildings a solar installer wants, such as warehouses with large flat roofs and no panels yet, and outlines and measures every roof. Each roof is graded for visible wear, and where ownership is public record each match carries the owner, so the list is one you can call. Plans start at $49 a month.
How it works
- Draw or name the area you sell in
- Describe the buildings you want to reach
- Every roof is outlined and measured, with its owner where public
- Shortlist, prepare the proposal and plan the calls
Searches you can run
- Warehouses with large flat roofs and no solar panels
- Distribution centres with big open parking lots
- Commercial roofs that already have solar panels
Write the search the way you would brief a colleague. There is no fixed list of things to pick from.
What it can see from above
- Flat and pitched roofs, outlined with their area measured
- Roofs that already carry panels, so you can leave them out or offer them a service
- Roof wear such as staining, patching, ponding or rust, which may need work before panels go on
- Parking lots beside each building, outlined and measured
What it cannot tell you
- Sun hours, shading across the year or how much a roof would generate
- Whether a roof can carry the weight of panels
- The building’s electricity use or its current energy contract
- The age of a roof or anything under its surface
The rest of the job, in the same workspace
Prospecting
Finds and measures the roofs across the area.
Intelligence
Ask what is around a site, such as the nearest mapped substation, and see it on the map.

Can satellite imagery find commercial solar leads?
It can find the buildings worth calling. Describe them in plain words, such as warehouses with large flat roofs and no solar panels, and GeoSpectre searches the aerial imagery across an area, outlines and measures every roof that matches, and adds the owner on record where a US county or state publishes it.
Does it estimate solar potential or savings?
No. It measures the roof and shows what is on it, but it does not model sun hours, shading across the year or how much a system would generate. Use your own design tool for that once you have the shortlist.
Can it tell which buildings already have solar panels?
Yes, where the panels are visible in the picture. Ask for roofs with solar panels and each array is outlined. Arrays can also be graded for soiling, missing panels and shading, which is useful if you sell cleaning or maintenance.
Does it show who owns each building?
Where a US county or state publishes parcel ownership as public record, each match can show the owner on record, the mailing address, the parcel number and, where published, the last sale, together with the source and the date of the record. Where ownership is not published, we do not look it up.
How much does it cost?
Pro is $49 a month for one person and covers up to 100 square miles of search a month. Business is $149 per person a month for teams of 2 to 49 and covers 250 square miles. Enterprise starts at 500 square miles; contact sales. Fresh imagery can be bought separately when the included imagery is too old for the job.
