Find parking lots that need resurfacing
GeoSpectre searches the aerial imagery of a whole area for parking lots and grades the surface of each one from above: dark and even, greying, faded striping, patching, or visible cracks and potholes. Each lot gets the service that fits, from sealcoat or restriping to mill and overlay, and where ownership is public record it shows the owner, so paving and sealcoating contractors know who to call. Plans start at $49 a month.
How it works
- Draw or name the area you work in
- Ask for the kind of lots you want
- Each lot is graded, with the service that fits and its owner where public
- Shortlist, share out the visits and plan the calls
Searches you can run
- Shopping centre parking lots with faded striping
- Office park lots where the asphalt has gone grey
- Church and school parking lots with patching
Write the search the way you would brief a colleague. There is no fixed list of things to pick from.
What it can see from above
- Greying or oxidised asphalt, faded or missing striping and patched sections
- Wide cracks, potholes and broken edges, named only where they can be pointed to
- Concrete lots, recognised as concrete and never put down for sealcoat
- The size of each lot, measured from its outline
What it cannot tell you
- Hairline cracks, which are too fine for the included imagery
- The base and subgrade, or anything under the surface
- Parts of a lot hidden under parked cars, trees or shadow
- Whether the owner has a budget or a contractor already
The rest of the job, in the same workspace
Prospecting

Imagery
Order a fresh capture when the included picture is too old to quote from.
Tasks
Share out the site visits and calls across the crew.
Decks
A shortlist or a proposal with the picture of each lot, exported to PDF or PowerPoint.
Can you see parking lot condition from satellite imagery?
Yes, for what shows at about half a metre per pixel. A fresh lot is near-black with crisp lines; a tired one has gone grey, its striping has faded and it has been patched. GeoSpectre grades each lot from sound to broken on those signs and names the one service that fits best, such as sealcoat, crack fill, restripe, patching or mill and overlay.
Can it see cracks in a parking lot?
Only wide ones. Hairline cracking is too fine to see at this resolution, so it is never inferred, and a grey surface on its own is not taken as evidence of cracks. Cracking is named only where it can be pointed to in the picture.
How do paving and sealcoating contractors use it?
To build a list of lots that look like they need work before anyone drives round. Search an area for parking lots, sort them by grade, and contact the owner on record where it is published. Confirm the surface on site before you quote.
Does it show who owns each lot?
Where a US county or state publishes parcel ownership as public record, each match can show the owner on record, the mailing address, the parcel number and, where published, the last sale, together with the source and the date of the record. Where ownership is not published, we do not look it up.
How much does it cost?
Pro is $49 a month for one person and covers up to 100 square miles of search a month. Business is $149 per person a month for teams of 2 to 49 and covers 250 square miles. Enterprise starts at 500 square miles; contact sales. Fresh imagery can be bought separately when the included imagery is too old for the job.
